Townsville Gem & Mineral Show 2026

Location - Cricket North Queensland, 96 Murray Lyons Crescent, Annandale, Townsville QLD.

Entry Fee is $5.00          Kids 12yrs and under are Free

The Gem Show provides families and individuals of all ages and abilities with a opportunity to enjoy the event as a day out, participating in the activities provided, taking your time to look through the stalls, as well as being able to sit and enjoy the food and beverages under covered areas with tables and seating provided.  

The ‘Gem Show’ is held over two days attracting local residents and visitors from around the region and nationally.

Club Stalls and Activities include:

• Sandpit fossicking – for the kids and young at heart;
• Gold panning – learn to pan for gold, every bag is guaranteed to have gold in it;
• Pearl shucking – high quality freshwater pearl guaranteed with every oyster + cage and chain;
• Sapphire fossicking – purchase a bag of Sapphire dirt and wash it on site, learn how to pick out a rough sapphire;
• Faceting demonstration - demonstrating how to facet a rough gemstone on one of our Faceting machines;
• Lapidary demonstration - demonstrating how to shape a rough slab into a polished cabochon;
• Silversmithing - qualified instructor demonstrating techniques used to create beautiful jewellery items ;
• Raffle Stall - where you can view our amazing raffle prizes and purchase your ticket;
• Member displays - showcasing work created by Gem Club members.

Vendors, local and interstate will be onsite selling all things related to gems, minerals and jewellery making. 

Find your favourite rough or polished stones and crystals; beads, opals, precious and semi-precious gemstones; even jewellery making and lapidary tools.

For the serious Rockhound you can even purchase your own machinery.
